OCTOBER 2017. KENNESAW, Ga.— The Henssler Staff collected diapers for the Ninth Annual Cobb County Diaper Day held at Glover Park in the Marietta Square. Employees maximized their purchases, finding deals online and in stores to donate a total of 4,737 diapers.
Supported by the Cobb Children’s Fund, Cobb Diaper Day aims to help low-income families avoid choosing between food and diapers. The federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program does not include hygiene products like diapers. Furthermore, daycare centers often require parents to provide their own.
All donated diapers were given to the Center for Family Resources, liveSAFE Resources, MUST Ministries, Ser Familia, Simple Needs GA and Sweetwater Mission for distribution to help ease some of the burden of the hundreds of families with infants that enter their doors each month.
