Henssler Financial received a 2013 Sam Olens Business Community Service Award. The annual award is presented by the Cobb Chamber and Georgia Trend magazine to deserving member businesses for service to the community through support of not-for-profit organizations.
Ted Parrish, CFA, with Greg Morgan, Cobb Chamber Chairman; Sam Olens, Attorney General of Georgia; Neely Young, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Georgia Trend, and Kathy Schwaig, Dean of the Coles College of Business.
“We are very honored to receive this award,” said Theodore L. Parrish, CFA, who was in attendance at the chamber’s First Monday Breakfast when the 2013 award recipients were announced. “The spirit of community in Cobb County created by the honorees here today give us great hope for the future.” Parrish is a Principal and Director of Investments at Henssler.
Henssler Financial was nominated for the award by Kennesaw State University Coles College of Business. The Kennesaw-based financial advisory firm was one of 20 local companies recognized for their contributions to Cobb County’s non-profit organizations.
“We highly encourage and support all our staff members and clients in their charitable and community involvement endeavors,” said Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D., president of the firm. “The compassion and commitment by local businesses makes a difference in so many of our neighbors’ lives.”
The local firms were honored with the Sam Olens Business Community Service Award, sponsored by the Cobb Community Foundation. Since the inception of this prestigious awards program, Georgia Trend magazine has served as its sponsor. Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Neely Young presented each honoree with an award designed by Marietta Trophy. The Home Depot donated $500 gift cards to each non-profit that nominated an award-winning business.
The Sam Olens Business Community Service Awards recognize deserving Cobb businesses for their commitment to our community and their support of Cobb’s non-profit agencies. Earlier this year, Cobb’s non-profit community was asked to nominate businesses that have enhanced the lives of all Cobb County residents through gifts of time, money and charitable donations.
