JUNE 2023, Kennesaw, Ga.— Henssler Financial reaffirms its commitment to investing in others with the addition of an eight-station mobile laundry trailer for incident response foundation ServeComm, which can be used remotely in areas hit by severe weather or other natural disasters.
“Beyond the basic humanitarian needs like food, shelter, and first aid, something as simple as clean clothes can greatly uplift the spirits of families affected by catastrophic events,” said William G. Lako, CFP®, Principal of Henssler Financial.
“When we learned what ServeComm did for communities in need, we looked for a way to help. We started by co-sponsoring a food truck that has refrigeration, grills, and smokers,” said Chief Operating Officer Stacy Haubenschild. “After seeing the meaningful impact ServeComm delivers to people in disaster areas, we have provided a mobile laundry trailer to furnish much-needed essential services.”
The 24-foot trailer has eight laundry stations with commercial-grade, stackable washer-dryers and two on-demand water heaters. The trailer hooks up to city water, pressurized water systems, or garden hoses and disposes wastewater through a direct-to-sewer connection. When not deployed, ServeComm works with local outreach groups for homelessness and families experiencing financial uncertainty.
“We would not be where we’re at without the generosity of Henssler Financial,” said Michael O’Brien, founder of ServeComm and a City of Kennesaw police officer. “Their clients put so much trust in Henssler, and in turn, Henssler Financial’s success allows them to supplement what we’re doing for the community. We wouldn’t be here without all the support.”
ServeComm is the result O’Brien’s initial mission to help when the Carolinas prepared for Category 4 Hurricane Florence in 2018. The nonprofit organization soon developed a focus on providing humanitarian aid to first responders, volunteers, and those living in communities facing a crisis. ServeComm is often one of the first nonprofit, non-government organizations to respond to natural disasters or violent incidents.
