Indices ended mixed on Wednesday. Coca-Cola, Walt Disney and Chevron led the Dow’s decline. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted gains. Bank of America, Alcoa and Lennar stood out among advancers. The homebuilder reported a profit of 16 cents a share in the fourth quarter. The results missed expectations by a penny. Meanwhile, crude oil fell $1.37 to settle at $100.87 a barrel. Looking ahead, earnings reports are due for release tomorrow from such companies as Material Sciences and VSB Bancorp.
