Stocks Climb

Indices closed higher on Monday. Boeing, Caterpillar, Hewlett Packard, and Home Depot led Dow gainers by percentage. Crude oil added $1.06 to settle at $92.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, in its second session, Facebook traded down to $34.03 a share today, from Friday’s closing price of $38.23. In merger moves, the Eaton Corporation agreed to acquire Cooper Industries for $11.8 billion in cash and stock. DaVita plans to purchase HealthCare Partners for $4.4 billion. Looking ahead, existing-home and new-home sales data will be released on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
