A Green Finish

Tuesday’s session ended in positive territory. The Dow closed above 15,000 for the first time, led up by such brands as Caterpillar and JPMorgan Chase. Profit taking in Apple, however, weighed on the technology sector. Meanwhile, crude oil futures shed 44 cents to settle at $95.72 a barrel. In earnings action, both Fossil Inc. and DirecTV reported quarterly details that exceeded expectations. Elsewhere, Walt Disney released earnings figures after the closing bell. The entertainment titan said sales for the three months ended March 31 totaled $10.55 billion, which was slightly beyond a $10.48 billion estimate. Earnings per share hit 79 cents, versus a forecast of 77 cents per share.
