Henssler Financial’s Marathon Month Generates $1,500 for The Center for Family Resources

NOVEMBER 2020. KENNESAW, Ga.— Henssler employees racked up 1,177 miles either walked, run, or cycled during “Marathon Month,” the firm’s third quarter fitness contest for employees. The better news is this will equal a $1,500 donation to The Center for Family Resources’ Thanks for Giving program.

Due to the many hardships Cobb county families have faced this year, Henssler Financial upped it’s $1 a mile pledge to $1.25 per mile and generously rounded up to bring the total contribution to $1,500.

The top athletes for each category were Operations Specialist Garret Bauman running 237.27 miles, Client Relationship Manager for Retirement Services Justin Wagner cycling 152.7 miles, and Director of Marketing Lynn Maus walking 131.21 miles.

“With so many of us working remotely this year, we really wanted to encourage our staff to stay active during the many long weeks at home. We added a charitable aspect to help everyone stay motivated,” said Stacy Haubenschild, Henssler Financial’s Chief Operating Officer and former board member for The CFR. “Knowing that your effort is going toward feeding a family in Cobb County, who may have been struggling even more during the COVID-19 crisis is a great incentive to really aim for just one more mile!”

The donation was given to The Center for Family Resources, a local non-profit that helps Cobb County families and individuals by giving them the resources and support to escape the cycle of poverty. The firm works closely with the non-profit throughout the year, with several staff members holding board positions.
