Late Day Rebound

Indices closed out in positive territory on Monday. Technology brands such as Intel, 3M and Cisco Systems stood out among advancers on the Dow. Brands recovered from earlier losses in late afternoon action. Stocks reversed on news that China may buy bonds from debt-strapped Italy. In merger moves, semiconductor company Broadcom agreed to acquire NetLogic Microsystems in a deal worth $3.7 billion. Looking ahead, monthly data on retail sales, consumer prices and employment numbers is due for release later this week.
