Mixed Results

Stocks closed out Monday’s session mixed. Alcoa, Bank of America, General Electric, and Hewlett-Packard led Dow decliners. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted gains. Moves were mixed on news of Greece’s election results. Meanwhile, crude oil shed 76 cents to settle at $83.27 a barrel. Looking ahead, monthly data on housing starts will be issued tomorrow and existing-home sales figures will be released on Thursday.
