Brands traded lower on Monday. Walt Disney, Travelers, Boeing and Alcoa led the Dow’s descent. Investors took some profits off the table in the wake of last week’s run up. Meanwhile, crude oil added 10 cents today to settle at $93.19 a barrel. In ratings moves, Applied Materials slipped following a JPMorgan downgrade to underweight from neutral. Yahoo took a breather after Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. slashed its rating to market perform from outperform. Looking ahead, earnings season begins tomorrow when aluminum titan Alcoa reports quarterly details after the closing bell.
